Stop the Nord Stream 2 Pipeline!

The Nord Stream 2 pipeline is being built in order to transport more gas from Russia to Europe through the Baltic Sea. This would only worsen the impact of climate change and increase Russian leverage vis-à-vis Ukraine and the EU. The pipeline will also fund Putin's regime for decades. This is not what Europe needs. Members of the European and national parliaments from across Europe have to come together and send a clear message to the German government, who has the power to pull the plug from the pipeline.

We must not allow a Russian-funded pipeline to cause deeper rifts between EU Member States at a time when the EU needs cohesion more than ever.

The recent attempt at murdering Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny makes halting the Nord Stream 2 pipeline more urgent than before. It is unacceptable that profits from Russian energy exports to Europe are used to fund Putin’s oppressive regime. Stop the dirty pipeline!
