To: European Ministers of Labour and Employment
It's time for a 4-day work week. Trials in Iceland and countless studies show a 32-hour week for the same pay improved worker well-being, the health of families, gender equality, pollution, employment rates and more - and it even boosted productivity and efficiency in the workplace.
It's simply illogical to continue a system that stands in the way of better quality of work and of life.
It's time for Europe to put people at the core of our societal structures, and follow what science tells us works for our health and wellbeing.
We demand that national governments follow Iceland, Spain, Ireland and Scotland's lead by initiating public dialogues, programs and trials to work towards a strategy of reduced working hours, for the same pay.
