Million of insect species are facing extinction in what scientists are calling the 6th extinction. 75% of insects species have been in rapid decline since the 1990s. A collapse in the insect population can drastically affect food chains, wiping out animals higher up on the food chain, affecting air and water quality.
These aren't from natural causes, but human action. In Europe, the biggest cause of falling insect population & shocks to biodiversity are pesticides.
We need to protect biodiversity, large and small. It's time to stop thd damage we are causing.
We demand the European Commission propose an EU-wide binding target for pesticide reduction.
